My client based in the Lancaster area, are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join their well established team, on a full time and permanent basis.

This is an incredible opportunity for an ambitious, driven and people centred Operations Manager to truly make an impact in this organisation. 

The roles and responsibilities will include the following: 

  • Leading, directing and managing the day to day services provided by the organisation 
  • Responsible for recruitment, development and retention of high performing staff 
  • Ensure the service delivery is fully staffed and optimised and done in line with strict budgets 
  • Responsible for the health and safety including accident investigations, working in line with a safety first culture 
  • Delegate and assign work on a daily basis to direct reports 
  • Management of the risk assessment process 
  • Networking with industry professionals to keep abreast of best practice and relevant trends 
  • Hold and maintain a strong knowledge of fleet specifications, ensuring vehicles are carefully and proactively managed, making sure this is also in line with budget 
  • Lead, drive and facilitate the generation of new ideas and technology across the department 
  • Promote and deliver a 'customer first' approach and constantly work in line with the organisations principles and values 
  • Working in line with other departments to ensure timely and accurate responses are provided for a variety of operational issues that may occur 
  • Manage customer engagement and satisfaction to achieve measurable results 
  • Deal with customer enquiries and complaints professionally and effectively
  • Monitor and manage all aspects of performance management within the team
  • Working within strict budgets and time frames and deliver targeted growth within the business and ensure all costs are accounted for 
  • Support and lead on various projects, both short and long term
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of current legislation
  • Be accountable for the management of employees, including planning and developing and identifying developmental needs 
  • Conducting investigations into service or staff related issues 
  • Developing and coaching the team 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be degree educated or have the equivalent practical experience 
  • Be fully conversant with operational management 
  • Hold a full current UK driving license 
  • Be resilient with strong people management skills
  • Have a background in cultural change management 
  • Have strong financial management skills, specifically with budget management and cost analysis 
  • Be highly organised, methodical and organised
